Queenstown chef Ben Batterbury is the lone New Zealand representative participating at the Noosa Wine and Food Festival which runs until Sunday.

Following his success in January in winning the New Zealand Beef and Lamb ambassadorship, the Rees Hotel chef will be cooking in one of Australasia's best-known food events.

He will take part alongside Jacques Reymond, who has appeared on Australian Master Chef, and European chef Ian Curley.

Mr Batterbury will be making a French Country Picnic in the Lifestyle Lunch series as well as holding a cooking demonstration at the Noosa festival village's grand marquee during the May 17-20 event.

This is a coup for Mr Batterbury's international career, and with media from Australia and overseas attending the event, it is likely to put Queenstown on the culinary map.
