Police report no complaints regarding lawnmower race brawl

Police in Queenstown say they have not received any complaints regarding the brawl between two men during the Lake Hayes A and P Show's lawnmower race last Saturday.

Willy Boyd, of Wanaka, and Queenstown landscape contractor Simon Hunt both told the Otago Daily Times, days after the punch-up, they were contemplating making assault complaints with police.

However, Sgt Rowlands yesterday said complaints had not in fact been lodged.

• A Queenstown man was arrested for offensive behaviour yesterday, after he had allegedly urinating in the doorway of the Mountaineer building, on Rees St, at 4.35am.

The man was expected to appear in the Queenstown District Court, next Monday acting Sergeant Mel Rowlands, of Queenstown, said.
