After burpee-ing his way across Europe during his recent month-long honeymoon and raising money to support people affected by the rare genetic disease metachromatic leukodystrophy, Mr Donnelly has now issued a "double or nothing challenge" to the public.
"Technically I've already done my share of it. Now it's time for everybody else to step up."
His own 5000 burpees - filmed and photographed in front of European landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Pantheon and Buckingham Palace - matched the number of dollars raised for the cause before his trip.
From 8am today, he will encourage people to buy from him the chance to burpee for $1 each.
A burpee was the "worst exercise you can do", he said.
"It hits everything, as well as it makes your lungs feel like they're bleeding."
Half of the money raised will help the family of Olivia McLay (9), of Mosgiel, who died from metachromatic leukodystrophy in August. The other half will go towards research into the disease.
