A gloved man has been caught on camera during a brazen daytime burglary of a Queenstown home.
The home's security system took these photos of the man in the London Ln, Queenstown Hill, property on December 29 about 2pm.
Sergeant Steve Watt, of Queenstown, said. the alleged offender broke into the house by jimmying open a back door.
He then cut a hole in the bottom of a safe but police were unsure if anything had been taken from it.
A Bose sound system and other "expensive equipment''was taken, including the security camera sensor.
However, photos of the alleged offender had already been automatically sent to an online server.
Sgt Watt said police wanted the public's help to identify the man, described as being in his mid-20s, of medium build with brown eyes and rough facial hair.
It was possible the property had been entered more than once.
The owners of the house were overseas.
A friend who had been keeping an eye on the property reported the break-in yesterday.
