A father and son charged following an incident during a touch rugby game in Queenstown on Monday in which a man was allegedly knocked unconscious now face more serious charges.
Taumarui Arona (44), driver, of the Cook Islands, has been charged with injuring Wayne Elton Clarke with intent.
His son, Tau Aaron Arona (20), scaffolder, of Frankton, is also facing the same charge, and a second charge of assaulting Neil Munro Harrison, a team-mate of Mr Clarke.
The pair have been remanded on bail to appear in the Queenstown District Court on January 12.
