What more could the ladies of the Wakatipu possibly ask for?
It's a recipe for success and Winnies restaurant manager Zoe Mowbray is hoping ladies' night on Thursday at the premises in the Mall will raise at least $5000 for Cure Kids - a charity which raises money for research into children's life-threatening illnesses.
Ms Mowbray said the purpose of the evening was two-fold - the first was to allow the ladies of the Wakatipu to "let their hair down"; the second was to raise as much money as possible for the deserving charity.
The ticketed event, with capacity for 40 individual tickets and 12 tables of five, will be held in Winnies from 8pm on Thursday, with doors opening at 7.30pm.
On arrival, security would ensure only ladies entered through the black curtains and into the bar area - each lady would receive a glass of bubbly and a "small gift", while those at a table would receive a complementary bottle of Lindauer.
Sponsored by Havana, a liqueur manufacturer, cocktails would also be available for purchase.
Ms Mowbray said other sponsors included Collective, Exposure, Joanna G and Body Sanctum - all of which had been very generous with their support.
Live music would keep the women entertained along with the host for the evening, Mrs Barb Wyre, who promised to be "the highlight of the night", Ms Mowbray said.
"She's going to do a bit of a show and auction off our bachelors."
Bert Haines, Bryan Horgan, Regan "The Sheriff" Pearce, Garrit Van T Veen and Mike Tabb - five of Wakatipu's finest - had offered themselves as slaves for the evening to the highest bidder during the auction, which could see plenty of good-spirited, but nonetheless competitive, bidding.
"They go and get drinks, give massages, do push ups, if [the winning bidder] wants their shirts off, they take them off.
"All the money from the auction goes straight to Cure Kids," Ms Mowbray said.
Further, she said, men - other than those involved in the event - were not welcome.
• Tickets for the Cure Kids Ladies' Night at Winnies are $10 for individuals or $70 for a table of five.
