Curator Sue Wademan said the exhibition on Stanley St was a showcase of 30 New Zealand textile artists.
Each piece contained at least 50% silk, she said.
"I am planning on making it an annual event. This year we have attracted 30 textile artists from around New Zealand, from as far away as Auckland," she said.
The exhibition featured weaving, knitting, embroidery and quilting, she said.
• The exhibition will be open from 11am to 4pm on Thursdays and Fridays until October 17.
