New Zealand artist Anika Moa returns to Queenstown next Friday.
Barefooted pop soulstress Anika Moa says people should not expect her to be boring or serious when she plays at Dux de Lux next Friday.

The Dreams In My Head singer-songwriter says she makes up her shows as they go along, and that's the way she likes it.

"It's much more fun when you can go on stage and have a laugh and play some choice Kiwi music."

The double-platinum-selling artist was speaking from Akaroa yesterday, where she started her 24-destination Aroha tour of heartland New Zealand.

"We are so excited about playing in Queenstown as it's my favourite place in New Zealand. I love the people the most - they are odd, wild, crazy, exciting, creative and adorable!

"I have my band, Nick Gaffaney and Chip Matthews, with me and a very special guest, Julia Deans from Fur Patrol, but playing acoustic and solo. Awesome."

Anika Moa with special guest Julia Deans, Dux de Lux, Friday, November 6. Doors 8.30pm. Tickets cost $32 each from Play It Again Records, or $30 plus booking fee from www.eventfinder.co.nz.
