Heavy snow forced the closure of both the Lindis Pass and Crown Range Rd tonight.
SH94 from Te Anau to Milford Sound is closed to towing vehicles and the New Zealand Transport Association advises motorists to carry chains.
The closures will be revised tomorrow morning when contractors assess the roads.
Motorists are advised to check the NZTA or AA websites for information about the Lindis, and Queenstown Lakes District Council website about the Crown Range.
