Arrow Events co-ordinator Julie Hughes said she was "stoked" with the amount raised by the small community.
"I just want to say a big thank you. I'm really, really rapt with that total."
Mrs Hughes said last year the town raised about $2900 and this year's total was "a lot more than we expected".
"Some of that was down to the fact that we have had some really great businesses get in behind the cause."
Arrowtown's two hair salons, D'Or and Arrowtown Hair Company, managed to raise $510 and $480 respectively.
However, Mrs Hughes said she was not about to rest on her laurels and hoped to surpass the total next year.
"People are willing to give their time. Sometimes . . . it astounds me that people are so willing to give up their time and come up with great ideas, but that's living in a little town.
"Breast cancer touches so many people, unfortunately. Everybody seems to know of somebody who's been affected by it in some way."
