The 37-strong team behind Fergburger posed for a special school-style photograph outside the Shotover St premises to commemorate the Queenstown business' 10th birthday yesterday.

The company shouted its customers free mini cupcakes and cups of Speight's, and virtually everyone signed the visitors book, general manager Barry Smith said.

The company donated $1 from every burger sold to the Salvation Army's Canterbury earthquake appeal.

The burger bar was trying to give something back to the people of Christchurch, and staff had many friends and relations in the city, Mr Smith said.
