NZSki Ltd Sales and Marketing general manager David Ovendale said the Remarkables Pass, combined with free day-lift tickets for those aged 10 and under, was designed to make skiing or riding accessible for Queenstown families.
The pass was only available during the early bird sales period, and on collection, proof of Queenstown Lakes district residency would be required.
The range of early bird passes, on sale until midnight March 12, offered the best possible prices for Coronet Peak, the Remarkables and Mt Hutt, with prices for season pass types at the two Queenstown skifields frozen at last year's rates.
Mr Ovendale said the company had worked hard to ensure prices for all NZSki season pass types for the Queenstown mountains did not increase from last year.
"We've recently poured significant investment into both Coronet Peak and the Remarkables to offer a superior experience to our customers but have not reflected this nor the reality of increased operating costs in the pricing, because we are dedicated to ensuring snowsports are priced within reach for as many New Zealanders as possible."
Continued investment at both ski areas this year included improved facilities for children, and more groomers to improve the quality of surfaces for excellent skiing and riding, he said.
Also new this year was the Queenstown Transport add-on, offering unlimited transport to and from the Queenstown Snow Centre to the Remarkables and Coronet Peak for $195 for the season.
Mr Ovendale said people were "strongly encouraged" to buy online at www.nzski.com to secure the best possible prices and take advantage of the early bird time-payment option.
Application forms could be downloaded from the website for postal, fax and in-person applications.
The early bird time-payment option allowed people to pay for their passes in three instalments. It was only available online.
