Double-header at the drive-in for film fans

An action adventure movie filmed in part around Queenstown and the Southern Alps will be screened at the next Drive in Movie night hosted by Remarkables Park this month.

Vertical Limit (2000) starring Chris O'Donnell, Robin Tunney and Scott Glenn and directed by New Zealander Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) is about a climber's race against time and the elements to rescue his sister on K2.

A double bill in keeping with the Winter Games Adventure Film Festival, on August 19-25, Remarkables Park invites patrons to pack up their cars, park in the Red Barn area near Remarkables Park Town Centre on August 23 about 5.30pm and tune in their FM radio to enjoy Vertical Limit on a 5m by 3m screen at 6pm.

Movie fans can stay on for Australian drama Drift (2013), about the start of the modern surf industry and starring Sam Worthington, Xavier Samuel and Lesley-Ann Brandt, which is the second half of the double bill, at 8.30pm, with parking from 8pm.

Admission is $20 per car per show. Hot food and drinks will be available.
