Vicky Maureen Burr, a recidivist drink-driver who was dobbed in by her daughter after allegedly drink-driving at Roxburgh on Friday, broke down crying in court yesterday as she was remanded in custody.
Burr (47), of Alexandra, entered no plea when she appeared in the Queenstown District Court charged with driving with a breath-alcohol level of 928mcg.
She was arrested after her daughter (18) "bailed" from the car her mother was driving because she was concerned at her level of intoxication.
Judge Dominic Flatley remanded Burr in custody because she had been charged while on bail and was at "considerable risk" of reoffending.
"I'm sorry, but you have an appalling history of drinking and driving," Judge Flatley said as he read Burr's previous drink-driving convictions, including one at 1026mcg.
Burr was remanded to appear in the Alexandra District Court on June 29.
