Destination Queenstown chief executive Tony Everitt confirmed Mr Green would take on the role again. He also managed winter festivals in 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007.
Mr Everitt said the 36-year-old winter festival had "grown from humble beginnings to [be] the southern hemisphere's biggest winter party.
"Simon and the festival team have done a fantastic job of this year's event and their creative direction and operational execution has been vital to the festival's success."
Mr Green said he already had the key members of his production team in place for next year.
"I'm keen to build on the success of this year's festival, fine-tune some of the new events to make them bigger and better and work on some new ideas. Right now, though, we're about to get stuck into sponsorship for 2011."
The 2011 Queenstown Winter Festival will run from 24 June to 3 July.
