Unlimited dining winner Graeme Smith, of Queenstown, is served kelp-salted Akaroa salmon and Canterbury lamb rump dishes by threesixty food and beverage operations manager Dan Smith.
Cuisine at threesixty will be even more satisfying for one Queenstown resident after he won 360 days of free dining at the resort's only fusion restaurant.

Eurowine Fine Wines sales consultant Graeme Smith is entitled to eat at threesixty any time he likes, as often as he likes, for a year.

Mr Smith said he was having dinner in threesixty with his partner, Anna, before going to the theatre to see Grease: The Musical.

He filled in the competition entry form and forgot all about it until he was contacted with the good news.

"I couldn't believe it. I was ecstatic and my girlfriend's rapt. If anyone wants to find me, I'll be at threesixty."

Mr Smith will enjoy dishes created in an East-meets-West style and the fresh flavours of the newly launched winter menu, which includes julienne-battered oyster flower with calamari tartare and blood orange vinaigrette.

"I enjoy cooking at home, but it's always great to sample fine restaurant cuisine," Mr Smith said.

"I'm keen to try every dish on the menu at least once and predict I'm about to become pretty popular with friends who will want to join me.

"First things first though - I'll be taking Anna out for my first free meal at threesixty."

The prize draw was part of a campaign to profile fusion dining to southern lakes residents.

Last year's winner, bus company operations manager Mike Wood said: "The meals have been awesome, so much so that my wife has given me 12 months to lose what I've gained on my waist."

Mains include rabbit ravioli with dashi-braised daikon and the return of the popular red thai curry cappuccino.

Desserts like basil panna cotta with caramelised cherry tomatoes are also on the menu.

Threesixty is located in front of Crowne Plaza Queenstown on Beach St.
