SkyCity Queenstown croupier Holly Darling made the top eight finalists at the first Australasian Croupier Championship held in New Zealand last week.

Ms Darling competed against 20 of the finest dealers from the best casinos in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and Vanuatu at SkyCity Auckland. They tested their skills on the blackjack and roulette tables last Monday and the grand final was held last Tuesday.

Katherine Curmi, of Jupiter's Gold Coast, came first, followed by Arjay Romero, of SkyCity Auckland, second, Paul Taylor, of the Star Sydney, third, and Luke Abraham, of Treasury Casino Brisbane, fourth.

The championship has been running for 12 years and recognises the top performing croupiers from casinos around Australasia.

The judging panel scored competitors on customer service, chip work and dealing skills.
