A collective love of books will be celebrated this week at the Remarkables Primary School Community Book Fair.
The school, in conjunction with the Remarkables Parents Association, will host the Scholastic book fair from today until Friday, and it will include a range of new book titles.
The book fair will be open daily from 8.30am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 3.45pm in Ahuwhenua Pod, the classrooms closest to Boyes Cres.
The parents' association will host a community book evening on Wednesday, to ensure no-one misses out.
Remarkables Parents Association chairwoman Tracey Pedersen said the event was an easy way to shop for children this Christmas.
"We are very quickly approaching the holiday season, which is an important time of the year for children to continue their love of reading."
Along with the book fair, the school is hosting several fun learning events for the pupils throughout the week celebrating books.
Wacky Wardrobe Day will be held tomorrow, where the pupils can dress up as their favourite book character and share their favourite book during a special "Book-Nic", or book picnic, joined by Skyline's Captain Gravity.
Pupils can also display their creative side in a bookmark competition, as well as an Author Celebration Day on Wednesday with local authors sharing their favourite book titles.
All funds raised from the Scholastic book fair will go back to Remarkables Primary School to purchase books and resources for the library and information centre.
