Grabbing the most attention is Arrowtown's new cocktail bar, La Rumbla, owned by Queenstown couple Sam Groar and Penelope Johnson.
The pair, originally from the North Island, have recently been working in the hospitality industry in Auckland.
Arrowtown, which has a population of about 2500, has 21 cafes, bars and eateries between Arrow Lane, Buckingham St and Ramshaw Lane. Ten hold liquor licences.
The building has taken shape and the downstairs bar complex is now being fitted out with electronics and lighting.
The bar has a front-door entrance only.
Another tenant, Queenstown Events Management, moved in at the beginning of June and neighbouring offices include a local real estate firm and a smaller local business yet to be confirmed.
Two of the premises are still available for rent.
Construction began last September, with five to six Cook Brothers Construction workers on site at any time.
The development has 500sq m of floor space behind the historic post office and below Arrow Lane.
Cook Brothers construction crews are also working on two buildings further down Arrow Lane - it is not yet known what is destined to be in the new buildings.
Bush Creek Investments Ltd are the developers. The company also owns an industrial site on Bush Creek Rd on the way to Butel Park.
