Queenstown is one of Anika Moa's favourite places to be, so much so the Auckland songbird wants to live here one day.

Three albums under her belt, the multi-platinum artist returns to the Wakatipu to perform the fifth date on her national 16-date tour.

"I'm looking forward to the Queenstown show. I've played in Queenstown so many times and it gets better every time.

"The crowd's always so funny [here]; a mix of New Zealand people and tourists that walk off the street.

"Auckland crowds are ho-hum. Queenstown crowds are take your top off and dance on tables."

Joining the 27-year-old on this nationwide jaunt is her friend, Anna Coddington, whose recent debut album The Lake saw Anika repaying backing vocal favours after Anna had contributed to both the Stolen Hill and In Swings The Tide albums.

What can fans expect from the Queenstown gig?

"Lots of giggles, rude jokes, drinking, bad rock 'n' roll behaviour . . . not really," she said.

"I have a stunning band and a beautiful support act, Anna Coddington, and we will play angelic music and rid you of your winter blues. Also some covers to get you going.

"I take requests. I'm pretty much a karaoke machine, bro."
