The developers behind the Threepwood subdivision will plead their case during a resource consent hearing next week to establish a pavilion, tennis court, petanque court, children's play area, car parking and associated landscaping.
Meadow 3 Ltd is proposing the development on a 1960sq m area within the Threepwood development west of Lake Hayes, accessed from State Highway 6 via a new asphalt road serving the wider development.
The proposed residents' pavilion would be a single-storey "cottage-style" structure with an external timber deck.
It would be used as a meeting place for residents of the Threepwood development, and would contain kitchen and bathroom facilities.
The proposed unlit tennis court was a standard "doubles court", with a synthetic grass surface within a 3m-high black plastic-coated net fence.
The petanque court would be a gravelled surface flanked by an avenue, while the children's play area would include a range of play equipment on a "suitable surface", the application said.
The area would also include six car-parking spaces and trees would be planted.
No specific lighting was proposed for the pavilion or recreational facilities, but any lighting installed would be in bollards with a maximum height of 500mm above ground.
The application was originally submitted in May 2007 and placed on hold until August 2007, with a revision made in September 2008.
A further revision had been made in response to issues raised by submitters.
The hearing will be held at the Crowne Plaza before commissioners John Matthews and Sally Middleton on Wednesday.
