Years 7 and 8 pupils from Queenstown Primary, St Joseph's, Glenorchy, Arrowtown and KingsView Schools entered the competition, the second year it has been held.
The pupils were given the theme, "What I love about Queenstown", and told their creations should be suitable for a T-shirt design.
First, second and third placegetters will win Paper Plus vouchers, with the designs to be printed on T-shirts.
The winning pupil's school will receive $3000, with $2000 for the runner-up's school.
The judge is Juliet Collins, of Christchurch, who has taught art in schools for more than 20 years.
