Enfield is to get its water from Oamaru in a Waitaki District Council project to upgrade the supply to 450 people to meet new drinking water standards and provide for future demand.
Water from the Weston reservoir will now be fed along existing reticulation to Enfield.
The change is expected to cost about $30,000.
A survey of Enfield consumers showed 91% in favour of connecting to the Oamaru supply.
The new supply will affect the water rate paid by Enfield consumers.
With the extra consumers in Enfield and Weston, Oamaru residents will pay less.
