Police station windows smashed by stone-thrower

The Oamaru police station, a tour bus and a hair salon were the targets of a window-smashing spree in Oamaru on Wednesday night.

A 19-year-old Oamaru man has been charged with intentional damage after a rock-throwing spree that started about 11pm on Wednesday, Acting Sergeant Blair Corlet said.

Two windows of a tour bus parked outside Bella Vista motel, in Thames St, were smashed. Other properties hit included Heads 1st hair salon and the police station.

He is due to appear in the Oamaru District Court next Wednesday.
