Two new directors have been appointed to the Network Waitaki board by the Waitaki Power Trust, which owns the North Otago electricity network company on behalf of its consumers.
The trust held its annual meeting yesterday afternoon.
Board chairwoman Helen Brookes said Derek Atkinson and Danny Hailes had been appointed to replace Peter Garvan and Graeme Hamilton, both of whom had come up for reappointment by rotationand were available.
Mr Hailes is the Alliance Group's Pukeuri plant manager and has recently been appointed commercial general manager, to work in the company's corporate headquarters in Invercargill.
Dr Brookes said the trust would discuss the effect Mr Hailes' new Invercargill position might have on his appointment as a trust director.
Mr Atkinson was formerly Network Waitaki's technical service manager.
He had left the company to start his own business.
The other directors of Network Waitaki are chairwoman Clare Kearney (appointed 2005), Lindsay Malcolm (1997), David Sinclair (2003) and John Walker (2005).
Network Waitaki's annual report said Mrs Kearney was paid $37,500 in director's fees during the 2009-10 financial year and each of the other directors received $24,500.
It also reported one employee received remuneration in the $180,000 to $190,000 band and another $100,000 to $110,000.
