Danseys Pass Hotel is continuing to trade well despite being on the market while its owner, Anesyds Ltd, is in receivership, owing more than $1 million.

The 147-year-old hotel near Naseby has continued to operate since Anesyds went into receivership in March 2007.

Receiver Iain McLennan, of Auckland, said business at the hotel had been good during winter.

Mr McLennan said the business was buoyant and he had not been under financial pressure to close it at any time.

"The doors are still open - they have not closed," he said.

Mr McLennan said interest in the property had come from "all over the place", but potential buyers had been financially constrained.

"As soon as we receive a credible offer that's able to be settled we will be moving towards sale.

"With the market as it is we've had interest, but unfortunately because of financial constraints on those parties, we haven't been able to settle a sale," he said.

The directors of Anesyds are listed by the New Zealand Companies Office as Ewan Carr, of Ranfurly, and Rodney Humphries, of Auckland.

When it went into receivership, the company owed $1,082,432 to Edgewater Motel Ltd, owned by Mr Humphries.
