Driver still critical after crash with milk tanker

An Israeli man injured in a crash in North Otago last week remains in hospital in a critical condition.

His car rolled after a collision with a milk tanker near Oamaru on Thursday night.

The 24-year-old sole occupant suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to Dunedin Hospital.

Sergeant Tony Woodbridge, of Oamaru, said the driver of the milk tanker was uninjured but ''very shaken'' after the crash at 8.25pm.

A police spokeswoman said yesterday the Israeli man remained in Dunedin Hospital in a critical condition.

A Serious Crash Unit investigation into the collision is ongoing.
