Waitaki District Council agendas could be delivered online in the future, saving the council up to $30,000 a year.
The council's corporate services committee is to consider stopping posting out extra agendas and making them available through its website or for public viewing at council headquarters in Oamaru, the Kurow Community Centre, Waihemo Service Centre, Oamaru and Otematata Libraries.
The approach would follow that adopted by some other councils.
A report prepared for the committee said that over the past 12 years, the council had sent out agendas for its council, committee and board meetings to members of the public who had requested them.
The report said reducing agenda mail-out costs was in line with community views that the council reduce its overheads.
The report recommends stopping posting out agendas from July 1.
