Arrowtown businesses were disrupted by a telecommunications outage near Lake Hayes yesterday, which affected 150 Telecom phone users and 1000 broadband customers.
The outage occurred about 10am and, despite Telecom technicians conducting remedial work throughout the day, it was still causing problems after 5pm.
Telecom spokeswoman Joanne Jalfon said the outage was caused by fibre network damage at the Lake Hayes Rd, Malaghans Rd and McDonnell Rd intersection.
Contractors had been working in the area.
Arrowtown homes and businesses, as well as Millbrook resort near Arrowtown, were all affected by the outage.
