A Bannockburn man received puncture wounds to his buttocks while being attacked by three dogs in the town this afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said a man contacted police at 12.39 pm today saying he had been attacked by the dogs.
A police spokeswoman said the Central Otago District Council had impounded the dogs and was working with police to identify the owners.
The victim had minor injuries and he was seeking medical treatment, but did not require an ambulance, the spokeswoman said.
Police wanted to hear from anyone who had had trouble with roaming dogs recently in the Bannockburn area. Anyone with information can contact Constable Sam Rundle at the Cromwell police station on 03 445 1999.
