One of the two suspects sought after a police pursuit in Central Otago a week ago involving a driver who fled at 140kmh, swerving past road spikes, is a man in a wheelchair.,>
Police have released photos of the two male occupants of the vehicle in the hope of identifying them. ,>
The pursuit took place between the Lindis Pass and Alexandra and a police search for the blue Honda Civic car and occupants after it headed into scrubby terrain near the base of Alexandra's clock on the hill was unsuccessful.,>
Sergeant Matt Alley, of Alexandra, said the photos of the suspects had been provided by a member of the public and were taken soon after the pursuit, near where the Honda was found. The car was found on Tuesday in a residential area of the town.
,>
He said police did not know who the driver was but the Honda was a "standard" vehicle and had not been modified for a disabled driver.
,>
"We're hoping people will contact us with further sightings of these two men -- they're pretty distinctive given one is in a wheelchair -- or maybe know their identities," he said.
,>
The vehicle has been "forensically examined" and the results of those tests will shed more light on the matter.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Alexandra police.
