Alexandra police have made a second arrest in relation to a stabbing on the outskirts of the town last month.
Detective Sergeant Derek Shaw, of the Central Otago CIB, said yesterday police had arrested a 22-year-old Alexandra man and charged him with possessing an offensive weapon, a boning knife.
The charge relates to a stabbing on June 26.
Det Sgt Shaw said the man had been remanded on bail to appear before a registrar in the Alexandra District Court on July 29.
Hunter Craig Cavanagh (39), unemployed, of Alexandra, has appeared in the Alexandra court twice charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and has been denied bail both times.
He has yet to plea, and is due to appear again on July 31.
