A helicopter crash in the Hawkdun Ranges, near Otematata in Waitaki, left two people stranded on a hillside.
The Rescue Coordination Centre said it received a beacon alert at 1.40pm yesterday from the crashed aircraft.
A Maritime New Zealand spokesman said a rescue helicopter from Dunedin arrived at the scene and found the pair standing nearby, uninjured.
They were flown to a local homestead about 2.20pm.
