Police have captured the driver who evaded police after pulling in to Alexandra Tourist Park this evening.
A police spokeswoman said they were called about a man driving erratically just after 5pm and after tracking the car to Alexandra Tourist Park, in Ngapara St, the driver and one of three passengers evaded police capture on foot.
Police eventually found the man when he returned to the shearer's accommodation at the park about 7pm.
Police were speaking to him tonight and he would likely be facing driving related charges.
The passenger who evaded capture was let off with a pre-charge warning.
The man-hunt earlier resulted in the park being locked down and a large emergency services call out.
A reporter on the scene said people had not been allowed into the camping ground, but the gates were opened at 6pm.
About 10 firefighters were gathered outside the park with police officers, but they left the scene shortly after the gates were opened.
