Large response to town changes

Cromwell residents have shown they are passionate about the proposed changes to the town's commercial centre, with about 50 submissions received so far and many requests to speak at the hearings.

Central Otago District Council business development manager Jonathan Gadd is collating the submissions and has been impressed with their quality and depth, with some submitters including maps and drawings of the changes they feel are required.

Mr Gadd said the next stage would be to discuss a suitable hearing date with the Cromwell Community Board.

"There are quite a few people who want to submit and that's a good indication that people are passionate about turning up and presenting their ideas," he said.
