The complex, at Fruitlands, 13km from Alexandra, has been owned by Jackie van der Voort and James Russell since 2009 and has just been advertised, with a $1,050,000 asking price.
The complex, which comprises accommodation and a restaurant-cafe, was first recorded as operating as the Speargrass Hotel in 1871, its website says.
It had various owners as a store and boarding house before it closed in 1909. It fell into disrepair after 1954.
The hotel was restored in 1986 by Jan Rasmussen and Bert and Annette Kemp and reopened as Fruitlands Cafe and Gallery. Accommodation was added by later owners.
The Otago Daily Times was not able to contact Ms van der Voort and Mr Russell.
