Freezing fog engulfs town

Cromwell township and its big fruit sculpture were engulfed in a freezing fog yesterday — dropping temperatures below 0°C.

A Central Otago District Council weather station in Anderson Park, Cromwell recorded a minimum temperature of -4.4°C at 5am yesterday.

The MetService forecasts the chilly weather will continue.
