The Bannockburn Arts Festival Across the Bridge may have been hijacked by Covid-19 last year but the event is set to return in October — with a new format.
The Bannockburn Arts School is a five-day school offering workshops in disciplines ranging from creative writing, watercolour and and photography to poetry, pottery and wine.
Central Otago had a rich array of creatives who could share their skills, she said.
"Every tutor is from the regions, so if we needed to have different traffic lights that would not stop them from travelling," she said.
"We realised what a wide community of really talented artists and tutors we had in the area and we wanted to let people have a chance to experience that.
"But also it’s a bit of a different time for artists and we wanted to give them exposure ... I think especially in the last three years it’s important to step back and celebrate the positive things, support the arts and give people a creative outlet to discover a new creativity."
The school runs from October 3-7.
