Boy hurt in shooting accident on mend

The 10-year-old boy injured in a duck-shooting accident at Tarras on Sunday remained in the children's ward of Dunedin Hospital yesterday.

A patient inquiries spokeswoman at the hospital said the boy continued to be "progressing well".

The boy sustained a serious injury to his right hand in the duck-shooting incident, which happened on a farm at Tarras, a police report says.

Sergeant Mike Williams, of Cromwell Police, saidthat the police investigation into the matter would recommence once the boy had recovered and his parents had returned home from Dunedin Hospital.
