Organisers of Cromwell's Rotary Club Book Sale say they are grateful for book donations from local residents.
Rotary Club of Cromwell have been assembling a wide selection of books for their book sale, which begins today.
The Cromwell Bowling Club has been converted into a mini library for the two-day event.
Event organiser and Rotary Club of Cromwell member Pam Broadhead said the event was geared towards holidaymakers looking for a bit of "time out."
"There's a big range," Mrs Broadhead said.
"It's a good opportunity for people who are here over the summer to see the books we collect from the community."
The majority of titles cost $2 but those in the "treasures" selection cost about $8-$10.
"We would like the hall empty of books by Saturday afternoon if possible," Mrs Broadhead said.
The book sale raised just under $5000 last year.
Proceeds are to be given to community projects.
Elsewhere, Roxburgh is hosting its annual book sale which is also open today and tomorrow.
