Glendhu Bay holidaymakers will have a new lakeside walking track to enjoy this Christmas holiday season with the most recent addition to the Upper Clutha district's expanding network of trails just opened.
The Upper Clutha Tracks Trust is responsible for the new track, which connects to the Glendhu Bay camping ground from a lakeside track to Wanaka.
Several community groups and businesses have contributed to help build the new track, the trust's president Tim Dennis said.
They included the Lion Foundation, the Longview Environmental Trust, the Wanaka Walkers group, the Department of Conservation, and John Sutton contracting.
The recently completed section of track forms part of a 40km off-road section from Lake Hawea to Glendhu Bay.
