The man in red, along with more than 200 others will parade down the city's main street tomorrow spreading Christmas cheer.
Organiser Malcolm Dodds said preparations had begun about two months ago "rebuilding and rehashing" floats along with creating some new ones.
"This year will be big. The whole idea is to bring the spirit of Christmas to Dunedin," he said.
He recommended arriving at least 20 minutes before the parade began to receive a chocolate treat from Cadbury.
The parade will begin assembling in George St, between Howe and Regent Sts, from 9am.
The area will be closed to traffic.
The parade will start at 3pm, moving south up George St through the Octagon, before turning left into Moray Pl where it will disperse.
A concert in the Octagon will follow.
The following streets will be closed between 2pm and 8pm - George St, between the Octagon and Duke St; Titan St; Princes St, between the Octagon and Moray Pl; Harrop St; upper and lower Stuart St, between the Octagon and Moray Pl.
