Squash: NZ on target for top-10 finish

New Zealand beat Kuwait 2-1 today to remain in the hunt for a top-10 finish at the squash world men's teams championship in Denmark.

The 10th seeded New Zealanders were on the back foot early in the playoffs for ninth to 16th place, with their No 1 KashifShuja losing the opening match to Abdullah Almezayen.

Almezayen won 11-3 11-3 11-8 in 24 minutes.

However, Campbell Grayson got things back on track with an 11-5 11-5 11-3 win over Salem Fayez Mohammed before Martin Knight wrapped up the victory by beating Bader Al Hussaini 6-11 11-7 11-8 11-7.

New Zealand next play the United States, the 12th seeds, with the winners going through to the ninth place playoff.
