The Taieri College Alumni Committee has organised a ''walk-through'' of the block on November 21 as part of a drive to increase membership of its alumni group.
The block was built at a cost of $4.1million and is equipped with the latest technology.
Committee chairwoman Kirsty Fiddes said the tour was open to anyone in the community and they were hoping to have a good attendance.
''We didn't get a lot to the last walk-through [last year] because we were quite new [but] they will get a cup of tea and a slice,'' she said.
Mrs Fiddes said a lunch would be held for the class of 1977 prior to the tour, which about 20 alumni would attend.
The official opening of the block, which included a powhiri and a speech by a ministry officials, had already been held last month.
Committee member Sue Brinsdon said it was free for people to join the alumni group and it held regular get-togethers.
''We're hoping for as many people as possible [to come].
''It's just a chance to have a look through the new block.''
