They also organise fundraising to get players and guides to the National Blind Indoor Bowls Championships every Labour Weekend and help Special Olympics competitors at weekend events.
"We started doing it about seven to eight years years ago, when we were already into bowls and I was working with the blind," Mr Moffitt said.
"When you see people with challenges enjoy and benefit from joining the sport you love, that’s a really rewarding feeling and reminds you to be grateful for what you might otherwise take for granted."
The Moffitts’ Local Legend nominator said they were also "vital" to South Otago Indoor Bowls Association as president and fundraising convener.
