Police say they have recovered $10,000 worth of stolen property after the arrest of three suspected burglars earlier this week.
Burglaries targeting residential and commercial properties around Dunedin are linked to three Dunedin men aged 34, 36 and 45, Detective Senior Sergeant Malcolm Inglis said.
''They are targeting everything from appliances to jewellery to alcohol,'' he said.
Police had recovered laptops, power tools, memory cards, alcohol and other household items from at least 10 burglaries, he said.
Properties in Helensburgh and Halfway Bush seemed to have been heavily targeted, but the trio were also linked to burglaries around Dunedin during August and September, Det Snr Sgt Inglis said.
The alleged offenders were known to police and ''pretty hard crims''.
''The recovery of the items has been a great result for the victims of these burglaries.''
Police were still hoping to recovery more items, as some victims were missing personal effects, such as jewellery, he said.
One of the trio appeared in the Dunedin District Court this week and the others would appear next week.
''The positive outcome in these cases comes down to some great police work by our staff,'' Det Snr Sgt Inglis said.
Anyone with information that can help police, or who believe they may be a victim of the alleged burglars, can contact Dunedin police on 471-4800, or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
