Middlemarch put on a show for its Festival of Lights and Mid-Winter Christmas on Saturday.
About 90 people attended the event, with most coming via the Taieri Gorge Railway.
Organiser Lorna Williams said the night was ''extremely successful'', with attendees giving excellent feedback.
The organisers worked hard on the festival, which had become a special event on the Middlemarch calender.
People enjoyed Christmas dinner, music and dancing before taking the train back to Dunedin.
The event raised money for the refurbishment of the Middlemarch community centre.
