Tirikatene behind as Te Pāti Māori looks set to flip Te Tai Tonga

    Labour incumbent Rino Tirikatene is trailing Te Pāti Māori candidate Tākuta Ferris in the Te Tai Tonga electorate with almost 50% of the vote counted.

    Mr Ferris is on 5872 votes ahead of Mr Tirikatene on 5,138 votes with 49.9% of the votes counted.

    In the party vote Labour is ahead on 36.65% ahead of Te Pāti Māori 22.67%.
