About 15 people attended a public meeting in Brighton last week to discuss proposed improvements to footpaths in the township.
Dunedin City Council transportation programme engineer Michael Harrison said although the turnout was slightly disappointing, it was good to get some feedback on the plans the council had drawn up for footpath changes on Brighton Rd and Bath, Queen, Trecastell, Taylor and Pearse Sts.
So far, people seemed positive, he said.
''We are looking forward to getting more information through the feedback period, because we want to understand what the community wants.''
The areas to be improved were identified by the community, and the Saddle Hill Community Board has included them in the community plan.
Plans of where the works are proposed can be seen on the council's website, and are available for public viewing at the Civic Centre.
People can make submissions on the plans until March 28.
