Bic Runga, Ladi6 and Ladyhawke will join the Topp Twins at the women's World Cup football fan festival in Dunedin this month.

The free festival will run for six days between July 20 and 30.

The Dunedin City Council announced the full programme this morning.

Fan festival co-ordinator Eleanor Riley produced a programme designed to appeal to families.

"There will be arts, crafts, sporting activities, photo exhibitions and a music line-up showcasing some of Aotearoa’s top female performers," she said.

“Headlining the festival are Aotearoa superstars Bic Runga, Ladi6, Ladyhawke and the Topp Twins.

"We'll also be treated to performances by the very talented Foley, Georgia Lines, Paige and Riiki Reid, as well as the very awesome Emily Alice, Mads Harrop, Melissa Partridge, the Mitchell Twins and Tina Turntables.”

Dunedin is hosting six World Cup matches.

The festival will be held at the Dunedin Town Hall and Glenroy Auditorium.

City council events team leader Dan Hendra said the city had never before been part of such a big undertaking for an event.

"This is the largest women’s tournament in history, and significant upgrades have already been completed across a number of sports grounds in preparation for the tournament," he said.

"The Fifa Fan Festival will be the soul of the tournament and we are lucky to be able to host such an incredible and entirely free programme for everyone."
